Pros and cons of Aquarium Handbook Complete app for iPhone and iPad
Aquarium Handbook Complete app good for
They have also been updating this a few times per month. Great app I use all the time
I really found this program helpful and interesting. With constant updates and good information on a great number of species, this is a must have for aquarium keepers. Worth the money!
I find this app. Very helpfull its got everything you need from info on fish and invertebrates plus a place to write down your notes and water parameters.
The fish are found under differents names wich is helpfull since different names are used in differents books and petstores.
There is also most of the definitions used in the market.
Very much worthed the price asked for.
Anything not there, ask the developer he Will do is best to add it to the app.
Thank you
It really doesnt give me the feel that I can trust everything thats written sometimes. Alot of the coral descriptions are just duplicates of other ones for example...especially the brain corals. But dont get me wrong - its a very large and comprehensive list of fish, inverts, and plants, among many other options.
Also, to the builders of this app...can you make it so when you click on an item, it goes to the info page of the item directly, instead of just the picture. Its kind of annoying. And please improve coral and plant pictures.
5 stars, simply for all the work that must of gone into this.
Theres a few things in it that Ive noticed right off that are off, but its expected with the massive size of this database.
With the amount of updates, everything in this application, and layout... its well worth the $15.
What a great app. I have been waiting patiently for an app of this calibre to surface... So thankyou for the time and effort that went into this
Can I make two small suggestions?
I notice that when you go into the details of a specific fish and return to the list you start back at the top of the listing- can this be fixed?
Also a search field that would accept common or scentific names would be the icing on the cake.
Well worth the money for someone with years of experience in the hobby or for someone just starting out thanks!!!
Some bad moments
This app is a great idea but needs a lot of work! It is missing a lot of saltwater sea life. Also lots of duplication of fish. Not much information - in fact none for each species. The interface is really quite cumbersome. Search engine only works for each category. Has some good conceptual ideas but need to be refined. If it was only a 99 cent app, I would not be disappointed, but for the price it is really not worth it at all. Keep your money until the author makes an extreme effort to enhance this application.
A little disappointed considering the price of the app. It is missing lots of salt water life, as well there are lots of duplicates. Would be nice if they could fix the duplications and add more stuff to it.
This app should be considered a "work in progress" and as it stands is definitely not worth the money. It is chock full of great ideas that dont work when executed, "copy and paste" critter descriptions, spelling errors and typos, clunky and "amateurish" navigation and has not been updated since October. While the concept is great, it pales in the execution.
Program crashed upon first use clearing all data from the my tank feature. Menus are hard to navigate and information is limited, almost non-existent on some species.
Needs support for tracking of multiple aquariums. And better GUI to be worth more than 4.99. As is worth .99. Has potential, hopefully the updates bring change.
This app is not worth the money at all. It is at best a work in progress. Very clunky menus. Very limited marine corals. Tons of duplicates. It is a good idea but with very poor delivery.
I really regret spending the money on this app it needs a lot of work before it would even be worth 99 cents.
Update: Still not even close to being worth the money.
App doesnt work very well as app buttons frozen. Only see pictures of fish. Trying to get money back. iOS 5.1.1
